Cooking Sauces

Cooking sauces, or Simmer Sauces as we call them, are versatile jarred sauces that are great for quick and easy meals. They’re often added to cooked veg or meat, and only need to be heated through before serving making them very useful for families.

Both of these jarred sauces are Italian-inspired and so work really well with pasta dishes. Mother Tomato is rich in tomato, with garlic, onion and herbs – it’s a real classic, rich pasta sauce. Spicy Marinara is also a tomato- based sauce, with some heat. It’s rich and spicy, with garlic, jalapeño and oregano.

Both of these sauces pair perfectly with our Pizza and Pasta Seasoning, which you can find on its own here or in our Seasoning Collection.

Our Simmer Sauce range is all about convenience. They are just stir-in sauces so only need to be heated through. If you’re making a curry with Golden Coconut or Special Makhani, fry off your meat or veg and stir through until the sauce is hot.

With our Italian-inspired sauces (Spicy Marinara and Mother Tomato), stir them through cooked pasta or spread them on a pizza as a base sauce.

Our Mexican-inspired sauces, Ranchero and Smoky Southwest are great for chilli con carne, or as the sauce for a tray of enchiladas.

We recommend each jar serves 2-3 people, depending on your portion size.

Before opening, store in a cool dry place (kitchen cupboard is perfect). Once opened, put them in the fridge and use within 3 days.

We recommend you use your Sauce Shop cooking sauces within 3 days from opening, if they’re stored in the fridge after they’ve been opened.
