The easiest way to turn Christmas leftovers into something you’ll actually want to eat. Steamed white rice, whatever bits you’ve got left in the fridge, and a hot broth spiked with Original Hot Sauce. Finished with a jammy boiled egg and chilli flakes, it’s warming, satisfying and perfect for the days between Christmas and New Year.

Ingredients

  • 150g white rice

  • 500ml chicken or vegetable stock

  • 2–3 tbsp Original Hot Sauce (to taste)

  • 200g leftover cooked turkey

  • 100g leftover carrots (or any veg you have)

  • 2 eggs

  • Chilli flakes, to finish

  • Salt & pepper, if needed

Directions

Make the rice
1

Cook the white rice according to packet instructions. Keep warm.

Cook your eggs

3

Drain, cool slightly, then peel and cut in half.

Make your broth
4

Heat the stock in a saucepan until hot but not boiling.

5

Stir in Original Hot Sauce, adjusting to your preferred heat.

Assemble your bowls
6

Divide the rice between two bowls.

7

Top with leftover turkey and carrots (or whatever leftovers you’re using).

8

Ladle over the hot sauce broth until everything is just covered.

9

Finish with the halved boiled egg and a sprinkle of chilli flakes.

10

Enjoy immediately while hot.
