Brown Sauce

- Tastes like - fruity and tangy, sweet and sour, with a warming blend of spices. We use tamarind for extra tanginess (this sometimes crystalises - just so you know!)
- Goes with - classics like shepherd's pie and of course... a fry-up!
- 1 star Great Taste Award winner
- Made in Nottingham in small batches
- All natural ingredients, never anything artificial
- Suitable for vegans
This is your new brunch staple. Fruity and lightly spiced with a big hit of malty beer. We use dates for sweetness and tamarind for that familiar tang. Sausages and bacon should never be without it.
As a Nottingham company, brown sauce is close to our heart. Not many people know, but the first recipe was created in Nottingham! It ended up being sold to a large company and is now made overseas (despite featuring some very British-looking parliamentary buildings on its label)... Sauce Shop has brought this British staple back to Nottingham.
Our version of brown sauce is super rich, fruity and deliciously tangy. As well as being brilliant on the classics, it goes very well with cheese - try it on a cheeseboard instead of pickle or chutney. Add our brown sauce to stews and meat pies for an extra tangy note.
Please note: this product may contain small pieces of crystallised sugar from the tamarind (just like when honey crystallises).
