Brown Sauce

Brown Sauce - Sauce Shop

Regular price £3.00

Brown Sauce needed a makeover. Fruity and lightly spiced, a familiar flavour that's been taken up a notch. We've combined sweetness from dates with tart tamarind and the deep bitterness of Castle Rock's English Stout, Sherwood Reserve. This is your new breakfast staple... Sausages and bacon should never be without it.

We've collaborated with local award-winning brewery and pub group, Castle Rock. Recapturing the true Nottingham heritage of the Brown Sauce recipe, we've dragged Brown Sauce into the modern age by using the fantastic flavour of a dark beer brewed with intensely roasted malts and Colombian coffee beans. The result is a sauce that slams the door on greasy spoons and scribbles out pictures of government buildings.

Suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans.

Ingredients: Tomato Paste, Sherwood Reserve Stout (water, barley, hops, yeast, wheat, coffee), Bramley Apple, Onion, Dates, Brown Sugar, White Grape Vinegar, Tamarind, Sea Salt, Spices (contains mustard). See allergens in bold.

At Sauce Shop we obsess over flavour. There should be no compromise, so we only use real ingredients to make sauces that taste extraordinary. Flavour takes a back seat in too many sauces, but each ingredient we use is selected to enhance what you taste.

We're daring to be different where mediocrity rules. Care to join us?

NO JUNK. REAL FLAVOUR.

Wow

The flavour of this sauce is unlike any brown sauce I have had over the years I highly recommend trying it if I had to describe the flavour I would compare it to the taste of branston pickle but with a deeper flavor

Nice but not the bset

Ok, this is a very good sauce but fails to be quite as nice as Stoke's Brown sauce which is the best I have tasted. The date taste is really nice but the Tamarind misses a bit. I will try some other sauces in your range, keep up the good work!

Transformed by view of Ketchup!

Being the non-ketchup eater in the family (I've always found ketchup to be way too sweet) I decided to try this on a whim and because it's always nice to support small scale businesses that champion high quality food. Sadly it arrived just a few hours before we went away for a short holiday. But, the night after we got home I picked up some decent burgers and broke open the sauce. What a revelation - not sugary sweet like the big name brands, but a rich, slightly smoky, tomato flavour. The ketchup eaters in the house are immediate converts to Sauce Shop and I'm a convert to tomato ketchup. Fabulous stuff! Now I'm looking forward to trying the Brown Sauce!

I've never been a big fan of brown sauce, but I tried this and really liked the fruity and tangy flavour.
