Chilli & Hot Sauces

At Sauce Shop we use a few different chillies, but most of our recipes feature habaneros or jalapeños. These are two of the most popular chillies in the world, and you can read about their differences, flavour profiles and more in our blog. All of our hot sauces feature our Signature Chilli Mash.

We take chillies, mix them with salt, and seal them in barrels. This is where fermentation happens. After 2-3 weeks, our chilli peppers have taken on a wealth of complex new flavours and are ready to be used in making our hot sauces.

Many of our chilli sauces are vegan, including our Original Hot Sauce, Sriracha Chilli Sauce and Habanero Hot Sauce. Honey Sriracha Drizzle is one of our most popular chilli sauces, but features honey in the recipe so isn’t vegan. View our vegan sauces here.

You can use hot sauce on virtually anything. We’re big believers that a good sauce can make almost any food taste better, whether you’re making

Good question! Buffalo Hot Sauce is our most popular hot sauce, and for good reason. It’s a sharp, creamy, spicy condiment that’s perfect for chicken hot wings. In 2023, it won a 3-star Great Taste Award and it’s available on our website, or in supermarkets such as Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Asda. The hottest condiment in our range is Habanero Ketchup – imagine ketchup but the tomatoes have been replaced with fiery habanero peppers. It has
a ketchup-like consistency and features our signature aged habaneros. It’s very hot!

Our hot sauces do have a best-before date, but we doubt they’ll last that long if you’re using them on your food! Upon delivery, our chilli sauces will have a best-before which is at least 1 year away. Once opening, keep them refrigerated and use them within 12 weeks (or 8 weeks for our chilli jams).
