Where To Eat Out In Nottingham

Just for clarity, this is for local Nottingham folk. Anyone else might find it a bit of a “wtf are they on about” read. We’ve picked out our favourite food places in Nottingham, so you don’t have to spend the time thinking. It’s unfair to rank them because they’re all banging so we’ve compiled a short list and you can figure out which ones are your favourites.

Oscar & Rosie's

The gang over at Oscar & Rosie's make seriously good pizza. Fresh ingredients and everything made from scratch - you’ve got to love it. They're also fully independent, starting out with small pop-ups which turned into a full restaurant in the Lace Market – their story reminds us a little bit of ourselves… but don’t let that distract you from the point that they make banging pizza. Find them on Stoney Street.

Nottingham Street Food Club

We are BIG fans of Notts Street Food Club. Their aim is to bring independent street food from an ever-changing line-up of local traders. The food includes burgers, loaded fries, fried chicken, burritos and loads more from a rotating line-up of vendors. Head upstairs in the Victoria Shopping Centre to find them. They also do some pop-ups in Sneinton but check their Facebook page out to stay up to date.

Blend Coffee Shop

Blend is one of our favourite coffee spots in Notts. Plus, their grilled cheese sandwiches are next level. You’ll find them in Sneinton Market Avenues which is one of our fave spots, and just round the corner from the first-ever Sauce Shop HQ. Blend has got a great outdoor area too, which is ideal for summer evenings.

Junkyard

Junkyard is a bottle shop and pour house in the city centre. It’s the ideal meeting spot for any craft beer fanatics with fridges packed full of the very best craft beers around. They also do some great grub to go with it. Promise you won’t be disappointed. You’ll find Junkyard on Bridlesmith Walk.

Bohns Burgers

Sorry, but if you’re looking for burgers in Notts city centre, this is your jam. They use the best local produce and make their own spices and seasonings. Pay them a visit, they’re located underneath Brewdog on Broad Street. Check their Instagram out for some serious food envy.

Brewhouse & Kitchen

A fan favourite amongst the Sauce Shop team. They serve some smashing beer and food, accompanied by Sauce Shop sauces. Have a walk near Trent Bridge and you’ll find it. They brew loads of beer on-site, and you can even go for a brewing experience to make your own beer. A few members of our team have been for a brew day and would definitely recommend it. Check their Instagram out.

The Cod's Scallops

If you’re on the hunt for proper good fish and chips, you’re in for a treat. The Cod's Scallops Wollaton store was named the 2020 Fish and Chip Shop of the Year at the National Fish and Chip Awards. They serve over 20 species of fish daily, cooked fresh to order. They've got a few stores but the Notts based ones are in Wollaton, Sherwood and Long Eaton. Check their website out!

Fat Hippo

These guys are up there as one of our top burger spots in Nottingham. They’re an independent group of burger restaurants, starting out in Newcastle and slowly taking over the rest of the North. Their motto is ‘Good Food. Messy Fingers. Juicy Burgers’ so that gives you an idea of what they’re all about. There’s no point in us trying to condense their menu into a few sentences, you just need to check it out for yourself, but they do some great burgers, dirty fries and all that jazz. You’ll find them on Broad Street in Hockley. Look at their Instagram if you want to make yourself hungry.
