We believe sauces should be flavour-packed and natural, which is why we never use anything artificial in our recipes. Sauce can make or break a
meal; topping good food with poor quality sauce just doesn’t sit right with us!
Made using barrel-aged chillies for maximum flavour
Since 2014, we’ve been using our Signature Chilli Mash to make the tastiest hot sauces possible. We take chillies, mix them with salt, and seal them in barrels. This is where fermentation happens. After 2-3 weeks, our chilli peppers have taken on a wealth of complex new flavours and are ready to be turned into hot sauces.

How hot are Sauce Shop hot sauces?
It depends! We’ve got something for all heat preferences. If you want a super spicy sauce, go for our Habanero Hot Sauce or Habanero Ketchup. On
the milder side, we’ve got Original Hot Sauce and Amarillo Chilli Jam.
What chillies are used in Sauce Shop hot sauces?
At Sauce Shop we use a few different chillies, but most of our recipes feature habaneros or jalapeños.
These are two of the most popular chillies in the world, and you can read about their differences, flavour profiles and more in our blog. All of our hot sauces feature our Signature Chilli Mash.

You can use hot sauce on virtually anything. We’re big believers that a good sauce can make almost any food taste better, whether you’re making

What is Buffalo Hot Sauce?
Good question! Buffalo Hot Sauce is our most popular hot sauce, and for good reason. It’s a sharp, creamy, spicy condiment that’s perfect for chicken hot wings. In 2023, it won a 3-star Great Taste Award and it’s available on our website, or in supermarkets such as Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and

What is the hottest Sauce Shop chilli sauce?
The hottest condiment in our range is Habanero Ketchup – imagine ketchup but the tomatoes have been replaced with fiery habanero peppers. It has
a ketchup-like consistency and features our signature aged habaneros. It’s very hot!
Does hot sauce have an expiration date?
Our hot sauces do have a best-before date, but we doubt they’ll last that long if you’re using them on your food! Upon delivery, our chilli sauces will have a best-before which is at least 1 year away. Once
opening, keep them refrigerated and use them within 12 weeks (or 8 weeks for our chilli jams).
